Now I Listen

I feel like I'm some one else,
stepping outside myself,
to witness me become the me I should have been,
debating the impact of what could of... would of been.

Knowing what I know now,
how,
I wish I could change fate,
But already its too late.

Hindsight is is 20/20, silence is golden,
holdin' on to memories of what was spoken,
hopin' diamonds in the rough still glisten,
recyclin' thoughts for overlooked  wisdom.

Me: The Monster

I've come to an understanding lately,
that maybe I'm a Monster.
Attempts to please,
do not appease, I just want to conquer.
Irrespective of perspective,
the prime directive is my survival.
Calculated and heartless,
regardless if a friend or rival,
is found in the path,
of my indiscriminate wrath.

I am

I am what I am .
I am not what I used to be.
I am not what I could be.
I am what I am.
For now, anyways...

Foolish Me

I put up barriers to protect me,
Love snuck you inside,
Foolish I was for trusting you,
Doubts emerge justified,
Was anything between us true?
In the end it was all lies,
The decisions you made unmade you,
Before my very eyes
Breaking my heart,
along with perceived binding ties
Dreams, and thoughts of being together forever through eternity
Removed painfully, and permanently, instantly.

Soulmate

As of late, Soulmate
there is a debate if you exist.
I too am about, to doubt,
without the presence of your kiss.
Barely manageable, without tangible,
affection.
Hurt with disgrace, cause I chose to place,
vulnerabilities without protection.
Blame for my shame,
should be directed in my direction.
For I have grown impatient,
Or perhaps you are late,
Or perhaps we will never know,
And perhaps that's just our fate.
